CNC Machined Aluminum Enclosures for a Dutch Electronics Company
An enclosure project integrating PCB alignment, connector accuracy, matched cosmetic finishing and repeatable assembly across 800 aluminum sets.
From Customer Requirement to Stable Production
The enclosure body and removable cover had to fit the customer’s PCB, align with external connectors and close without visible gaps. As a customer-facing product, the sandblasted and clear-anodized exterior also required consistent color and texture.
Manufacturing Challenge
Thin walls, internal bosses, threaded holes and several connector openings created interdependent assembly risks. A small datum shift could affect PCB installation or external connector alignment, while separately processed covers could show visible anodizing differences.
Our Engineering Solution
We reviewed the enclosure and PCB drawings together and produced a prototype for installation and connector testing. After approval, dedicated fixtures maintained a consistent datum. Bodies and covers were processed in matched batches and protected during machining, finishing and transportation.
How We Controlled the Process
Inspection at Every Critical Stage
Inspection requirements were defined before production so dimensional, functional and cosmetic risks could be controlled throughout the order.
Project Result
The prototype passed PCB, connector and cover-assembly tests before production. All 800 sets maintained consistent alignment and appearance with no reported assembly interference. The project was delivered approximately seven days ahead of the customer’s original target.
